Non-Profits and Churches Welcome to Participate in Gulf Breeze Expo

4/17/2010

Dear Non-Profit Representative,

We are in the process of finalizing our arrangements for our annual Gulf Breeze Business and Family Expo on April 17 from 9 AM – 2 PM at the South Santa Rosa Recreation Center, 800 Shoreline Dr., Gulf Breeze.

Last year our Expo was a resounding success, thanks in part to the support of local churches and non-profit agencies. These organizations had a free outdoor booth where they did a fun activity for families while passing out information about their group. Adults learn more about the businesses, services and non-profits and churches in their community and children have fun. What could be better than that?

The Gulf Breeze Area Chamber is also a non-profit organization, so we understand the need to fundraise. To that end, you are welcome to consider some sort of fundraising in your booths at Expo along with your children’s activity. Whether it is food, drinks, or other items you have to sell, we hope this will be helpful to you.

If you would like to participate in this “win-win” arrangement, we offer you a free booth. All we ask is that you provide some sort of activity for children. It can be something like a craft project, face painting, or giving away a balloon or a bounce house, climbing wall, or fun interactive game with prizes – i.e. “fishing pond”, dunking booth, “pin the tail on the donkey”, etc. It facilitates the overall goals of our event - family activity, exposure for non-profits/churches, fundraising opportunity, and audience draw for all the vendors and entertainment.

This year we have two venues: outdoor booths in the front parking lot of the Recreation Center and the Expo Café in the theatre room in the Recreation Center where we provide entertainment for our visitors. The Café will encourage visitors to sit down with their food and watch the entertainment. The space in this area is limited, so participation in the Café will be on a first-come-first-served basis. Expo Café participants are asked to do something free for children as well – like a free give away. Remember, outdoor exhibitors are welcome to sell food and drinks as well or other types of fundraising projects, but again must do something free for children.

If you do participate by selling food or beverages, particularly in the Café, please consider having items that reach out to visitors and exhibitors at breakfast and lunch time, as well as snacks. For example, Krispy Kreme Donuts (http://www.krispykreme.com/fund.html) does have a fundraising program.

We hope you will take advantage of this free space and spread the word about your group. Thank you for putting it on your organization’s schedule. Please return the attached or enclosed form. We look forward to working with your group at Expo.

Sincerely,

Gulf Breeze Expo Committee
